Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs?
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Ferryhill, working within our KS1 Nurture Hub.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and wants to make a real difference to their learning, confidence and wellbeing.
The Role
You will work closely with pupils in the KS1 Nurture Hub, providing tailored support to children who may need additional help with their learning, communication, emotional regulation and social development.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis

Helping children develop their confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing

Supporting learning through engaging, differentiated activities

Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team

Supporting children to develop their social and emotional skills

Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment where every child can thrive
We are looking for someone who is:

Patient, nurturing and compassionate

Experienced in or passionate about working with children with SEN

Confident supporting children with additional emotional and behavioural needs

Able to build strong relationships with pupils

Calm, consistent and positive in their approach

A strong team player with excellent communication skills

Committed to helping every child reach their potential
Experience within a nurture provision, SEN setting or primary school would be highly desirable.
