Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our vibrant care home team. This vital role involves providing exceptional support and compassionate care to our residents, ensuring their well-being, comfort, and dignity are maintained at all times. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key leadership role, supervising and mentoring junior staff while fostering a positive environment focused on person-centered care. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help create a warm, safe, and engaging community for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to meet individual needs.
- Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure consistent delivery of compassionate care.
- Lead by example in promoting best practices for health and safety, infection control, and dignity in care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and resident progress using IT systems efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure clear understanding of care requirements and updates.
- Support the training of new staff members and oversee their integration into the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within a care home environment or senior care setting.
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare or social care context.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents and colleagues alike.
- Knowledge of care plans development and adherence to regulatory standards
- Competency in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts including weekends and evenings as required.
