Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Craft Tutor to inspire and educate aspiring artisans in various craft disciplines. Based at the Angel Centre, a community hub in Salford, this dynamic role offers the opportunity to share your expertise, foster creativity, and help learners develop practical skills through engaging, hands-on instruction. As a Craft Tutor, you will play a vital role in nurturing talent, promoting excellence in craftsmanship, and creating a vibrant learning environment that encourages innovation and mastery.
Duties
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive craft lessons tailored to learners’ skill levels, focusing on techniques such as woodworking, sewing, pottery, or other relevant crafts
- Prepare instructional materials, tools, and workspace setups to facilitate effective learning experiences
- Provide clear demonstrations of craft techniques while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assess student progress regularly and offer constructive feedback to support skill development
- Maintain an organised workspace and manage craft supplies efficiently to ensure smooth class operations
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages creativity, collaboration, and confidence among learners
- Communicate effectively with students to address questions, clarify instructions, and motivate ongoing improvement
Skills
- Strong proficiency in English for clear communication and instruction delivery
- Proven experience in teaching or mentoring others within craft or technical fields
- Excellent communication skills to engage learners of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Basic IT skills for managing lesson plans, digital resources, and online instructional tools
- Exceptional organisational skills to plan lessons, manage supplies, and maintain a productive learning environment
