Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Brushcutter/Strimming Operative to join our landscape maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces, ensuring they are neat, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. This role requires a practical individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of horticultural practices.
Duties
- Operate brushcutters, strimmers, and other power tools to clear overgrown vegetation and maintain grassed areas.
- Use hand tools such as shears, pruners, and spades for trimming and shaping plants and shrubs.
- Grass and vegetation clearance.
- General grounds maintenance.
- Safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Working as part of a professional team while following all health & safety procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs
- Follow health and safety guidelines during all operations to minimise risks on site.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, hand tools, and small machinery is advantageous.
- Familiarity with construction sites or horticultural environments will be beneficial.
- Knowledge of horticulture practices and general gardening techniques is highly valued.
- Previous work involving the use of power tools or construction experience will be considered an asset.
Essential Requirements
● Full UK driving licence (essential).
● Right to work in the UK.
● Ability to travel to and from our Aylesbury depot/site.
Desirable Qualifications
● LANTRA or NPTC Brushcutter/Strimmer qualification.
● Chainsaw certificates.
● CSCS card.
● PTS or Highways Passport (advantageous but not essential).
