Live-in Housekeeper for the Cotswolds - 30 hours per week
We are looking for a kind, reliable and practical live-in Housekeeper for a beautiful private house near Stow-on-the-Wold. The successful candidate must genuinely enjoy cleaning, take pride in keeping a home well maintained, and be happy to help with the smooth day-to-day running of the household. They also must love and be comfortable around dogs.
The home is informal and relaxed, but the family would like someone with good standards, initiative, common sense and a positive attitude to ensure that the house is kept clean, tidy, comfortable and well presented at all times.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out all housekeeping duties to ensure cleanliness and general housekeeping are maintained to a very high standard throughout the home to include dusting, vacuuming, mopping as well as deep cleaning when required
- Responsible for the high standards required for laundry, clothes care and ironing
- Responsible for changing beds and linen care
- General tidying and organisation
- General household tasks such as emptying and loading the dishwasher
- Helping to keep the home running smoothly day to day and keeping on top of the household routine
- Helping to monitor the dogs during the day, making sure they are safe and settled, and walking them when needed
- Cooking is not essential for the role. However, if the candidate enjoys cooking and would be happy to prepare occasional simple meals, this would be a lovely bonus. (For larger dinner parties, the family usually arranges a chef and additional help. If the housekeeper would like to assist on those occasions, this can be discussed and paid separately).
There may also be some additional hours in the future if the family decides to move house (locally), for example helping with packing, organising and preparing the household. Any additional hours or extra responsibilities would be discussed and agreed separately.

- Good initiative, attention to detail, a natural flair and a passion for a job being well done are all critical.
- Be confident managing the household independently and taking full responsibility when the principals are away.
- Possess a driving license (there is a car available for work) and proven references
Work Schedule:
In general, you will work 30 hours per week from 8:00am – 12:00pm and 3:00pm – 5:00pm with two consecutive days off. Your days off Sunday and Monday but there is flexibility in this and your days off could be Saturday and Sunday.

Private self-contained accommodation and private garden is provided with all bills included.
Salary
Circa £28,000 depending on experience
Pay: £28,000.00 per year
