Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As our Assistant Project Manager you’ll be supporting the successful delivery of multi-million-pound clean water, raw water, and wastewater capital projects under AMP8, this role works closely with the Senior Project Manager to ensure projects are effectively coordinated from design through to construction and completion. You’ll track progress against programme milestones, manage project documentation, maintain action trackers and risk registers, and ensure clear communication across design, commercial, and delivery teams.
Acting as a central point of coordination, you’ll proactively follow up on actions, identify and escalate risks or delays, and support planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, including Southern Water, you’ll help maintain continuity between office-based planning and on-site delivery while ensuring projects remain on track, within programme requirements, and aligned with operational priorities.
The role also supports cost tracking, forecasting, quality assurance, compliance, and stakeholder reporting. Regular site visits will provide visibility of project progress and enable effective issue resolution. What you’ll bring

- Health and Safety training or recognised certification such as NEBOSH or similar
- Understanding of Temporary Works requirements
- Experience in a project coordination, assistant project management, or similar role within construction or infrastructure.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects involving design, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive approach to tracking actions and resolving issues.
- Good understanding of project delivery processes and lifecycle.
