Front of House & Patient Experience Receptionist
The Lytham Dental Clinic | Lytham St Annes
More than a reception role
At The Lytham Dental Clinic, we believe excellent dentistry begins with how people are made to feel.
We are looking for a warm, dependable and highly organised person to become the welcoming face of our growing private dental practice. You will help ensure that every patient feels listened to, reassured and genuinely cared for, from their first enquiry to the moment they leave the clinic.
This is an important, people-focused position for someone who takes pride in doing things well, enjoys being part of a close-knit team and wants to build a lasting career with a practice that will invest in their development.
For the right person, the role offers genuine opportunities to grow, including the potential to progress into a Treatment Coordinator position in the future.
The difference you will make
You will often be the first and last person our patients speak to. Your kindness, professionalism and attention to detail will shape their experience of the clinic.
Some patients may feel nervous or uncertain, so we need someone who can listen carefully, communicate clearly and provide calm reassurance. At the same time, you will help keep a busy practice running smoothly by staying organised, anticipating what needs to happen next and supporting the wider clinical team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming every patient warmly and creating an excellent first impression.
- Building genuine, professional relationships with new and existing patients.
- Managing appointment diaries proactively and efficiently.
- Responding to telephone calls, emails and patient enquiries with care and confidence.
- Guiding new patients through the enquiry and booking process.
- Ensuring patient information, records and pre-appointment paperwork are complete and accurate.
- Explaining next steps and providing appropriate reassurance before and after appointments.
- Processing payments accurately and sensitively.
- Following up with patients and helping them continue their treatment journey.
- Inviting patients to provide feedback, reviews and testimonials.
- Communicating closely with dentists, nurses and colleagues across the practice.
- Helping the day run smoothly by noticing potential problems and acting early.
- Contributing thoughtful ideas that improve our service and patient experience.
The person we hope to meet
Dental experience is welcome, but it is not essential. You may currently work in hospitality, retail, healthcare, sales or another customer-facing environment.
What matters most is your character, attitude and commitment.
You are likely to thrive in this role if you:
- Genuinely enjoy looking after people and helping them feel at ease.
- Are naturally warm, confident and professional.
- Are dependable, punctual and consistent - even on busy days.
- Take ownership of your work and follow tasks through to completion.
- Notice the small details that make a big difference.
- Communicate clearly and listen with patience and empathy.
- Remain calm, positive and solutions-focused when plans change.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and are willing to support others.
- Welcome constructive feedback and want to keep learning.
- Understand that exceptional service helps patients and supports a successful practice.
- Are comfortable discussing appointments, treatment journeys and payments professionally.
- Can manage several priorities without losing warmth or attention to detail.
- Are confident using digital systems and open to learning new technology, including AI-supported software and automation tools.
- Are looking for a role in which you can contribute, develop and stay for the long term.
What success looks like
In this role, success is not simply answering the telephone or managing a diary. It means patients feeling remembered and cared for, colleagues being able to rely on you, and important details being handled accurately and on time.
We value people who care about the quality of their work, communicate openly and consistently do what they say they will do.
What you can expect from us
In return for your commitment, we will offer:
- A welcoming, positive and supportive team environment.
- A thorough introduction to the practice and ongoing support.
- Training and development to help you grow in confidence and capability.
- Genuine career progression for someone who demonstrates commitment and potential.
- The opportunity to develop towards a Treatment Coordinator role.
- A modern, ambitious and forward-thinking workplace.
- The chance to make a meaningful difference to people’s confidence, health and wellbeing.
- A team that values kindness, loyalty, personal responsibility and continual improvement.
