Sales Manager — Subscription Sales (Later-Life & Bereavement Marketplace)
£40,000 basic · £100,000 OTE (uncapped commission) · Home-based after one week's onboarding in Colchester
AfterLife is a new platform that helps families through one of the hardest moments they will face — the death of someone they love — by guiding them and connecting them to trusted local businesses. We are launching now, and we are looking for a hands-on Sales Manager to build and lead the team that brings those local businesses onto our marketplace as subscribers.
This is a build-from-scratch role for someone who wants to own a sales function, not inherit one. You will set up the CRM and the sales process, recruit and coach a small team of subscription sales reps, carry your own targets in the early months, and grow into a Head of Sales role as we scale.
What you will do
- Set up our CRM and sales process from day one and own the pipeline end to end.
- Recruit, train and manage a team of two to five subscription sales reps.
- Lead from the front — personally sign early subscribers so you know the pitch works before you coach it.
- Own monthly subscription targets, forecast accurately and report on performance.
What you will need
- A proven record of managing a sales team and hitting recurring-revenue or subscription targets.
- Strong CRM skills — setting a system up and getting a team to work within it daily, not just using one.
- The drive to thrive in an early-stage business where you build the engine rather than maintain it.
- Empathy and good judgement: our customers are bereaved families and the businesses that serve them, so tone and integrity matter.
Package and setup
- £40,000 basic salary, £100,000 on-target earnings through uncapped team commission.
- One week's onboarding in our Colchester office, then home-based.
