EIS Ltd is a specialist High Voltage electrical contractor delivering HV and LV electrical infrastructure projects throughout the UK. Our work includes the design, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of substations, industrial power systems, renewable energy installations and critical infrastructure.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced High Voltage Electrical Engineer/Senior industrial electrician to join our team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial electrician or HV engineer looking to work on technically challenging projects across a wide range of industries.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical installations.
- Installation of substations, transformers, switchgear and associated equipment.
- HV cable installation, jointing support and terminations.
- Inspection, testing and commissioning of HV/LV systems.
- Fault finding and maintenance on industrial electrical installations.
- Working safely under HV safety rules and company procedures.
- Producing high-quality installation and commissioning documentation.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers and clients on site.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
- CSCS/ECS card or equivalent
- Experience working on industrial electrical installations.
- Experience of electrical testing and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of BS 7671.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel and work away when required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- High Voltage experience (11kV and above).
- Current or previous Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status under DNO, IDNO or private network safety rules.
- Experience with HV switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
- HV cable testing and commissioning experience.
- Knowledge of protection relays and HV commissioning.
- SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalient
