Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Brewer to join our brewing team. This entry-level position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the craft brewing industry, working closely with experienced brewers to develop technical skills and knowledge of the brewing process. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about food safety, quality, and brewing, eager to learn and grow within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and brewing of craft beers according to established recipes and procedures
- Support the cleaning and sanitisation of brewing equipment to ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
- Monitor fermentation processes, recording temperatures, times, and other critical parameters
- Assist with ingredient handling, including weighing and measuring ingredients accurately using basic maths skills
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment for mechanical issues and report any faults promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of the brewing area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Support inventory management by organising ingredients and supplies efficiently
- Participate in quality control checks throughout the production process to uphold product standards
Skills
- Basic understanding of food safety principles, including HACCP standards
- Knowledge of food production processes is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is required
- Mechanical knowledge or interest in equipment maintenance will be beneficial for troubleshooting minor issues
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in following recipes and procedures
- Basic maths skills for precise measurement and calculations during brewing operations
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Enthusiasm for learning about craft brewing techniques and industry standards
