- Package : Salary up to £35,000 - £37,000 PLUS £4,500 in Tips (SC)
Our client is looking for a sous chef position at their very lively busy gastro pub in the Wirral.
The role involves supporting the Head Chef in delivering a modern, seasonal menu with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ideal candidate should be passionate about food, possess strong leadership skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Menu Development: Contribute to the creation and development of the menu, potentially taking a lead role in menu design and implementation.
- Team Management: Supervise and motivate the kitchen team, ensuring efficient and smooth operation.
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard, adhering to specifications and exceeding customer expectations.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
- Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior chefs, sharing knowledge and passion for food, and fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a chef, ideally in a gastropub or similar environment.
- Culinary Skills: Strong cooking skills, with a passion for fresh, seasonal cuisine.
- Leadership Qualities: Ability to motivate and manage a team, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain a calm and organized kitchen.
- Passion for Food: A genuine enthusiasm for food and a desire to create exceptional dishes.
- Work Ethic: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of quality and hygiene.
