At SELF, we’re looking for an experienced Registered Home Manager to lead one of our specialist residential services in Sunderland, supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and forensic mental health needs.

The Role
As Registered Home Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the service.
You’ll create a positive culture where colleagues feel supported and empowered to deliver outstanding care, while ensuring the service continues to meet regulatory, quality and safeguarding standards.
You’ll also play an important role in developing strong relationships with health and social care partners and identifying opportunities to continually improve and develop the service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the overall management and performance of the home
- Inspiring, developing and supporting your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Ensuring the service consistently meets regulatory and quality standards
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with health and social care partners
- Managing budgets, resources and contracts effectively
- Driving continuous improvement and service development
- Supporting strategic initiatives and the future development of the service
- Participating in the shared out-of-hours on-call rota
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience as a Registered Home Manager
- Experience managing complex care services supporting people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong strategic thinking, decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Good organisational and project management skills
- Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills
- A compassionate, trustworthy and person-centred approach
- A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes for the people we support
