Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Upholstery Sewing Machinist/Cutter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating sewing machines and cutting fabrics to produce high-quality upholstery products. Prior experience in warehouse environments and sewing is highly desirable, though training will be provided for suitable applicants. Duties
- Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble upholstery components with accuracy and efficiency.
- Cut fabric and other materials according to specified patterns and measurements, ensuring minimal waste.
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring safety standards are met at all times.
- Assist in preparing materials and supplies needed for daily production runs.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols and report any equipment malfunctions or hazards promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sewing, preferably with upholstery or textile products.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; a strong work ethic and organisational skills are important.
- Ability to operate sewing machinery safely and efficiently.
- Good attention to detail with a focus on quality control.
- Ability to read technical drawings or patterns is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different tasks within the production process.
