The postholder is required to work on a variety of environment service tasks including street sweeping, refuse collection, waste disposal and grounds maintenance duties, although your primary work is street sweeping.
You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post and be able to communicate effectively with team members and the public.
The Communities Service operates new ways of working which is a variable shift system. This is Shift B, Week 1 Thurs - Mon, Week 2 Thurs - Fri.

A Driving licence is desirable.
You will be expected to carry out a range of duties within the activities operating under the Foreman’s control.
You will ensure that work is undertaken, carried out and completed to the quality standards required according to instructions received and ensuring that safe working practises are adopted in accordance with instructions given and to monitor to ensure compliance.
You will follow through and comply with The Environment Service safe systems of work for Street Sweeping (copies available on request).
You must be able to carry out the completion of relevant daily paperwork.
You are required to be available to work on a standby basis working additional hours outside normal working hours, including weekdays and weekends.
