Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, handling, and transportation of deceased individuals in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Operate specialised equipment for moving and positioning bodies safely and respectfully.
- Support the team in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the funeral home or mortuary facilities.
- Ensure that all documentation related to transportation and handling is accurately completed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate logistics for funeral services, including loading and unloading deceased from hearses or other vehicles.
- Uphold high standards of dignity and professionalism at all times during sensitive operations.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to manual handling guidelines to prevent injury.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role within funeral services or related fields is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily duties.
- Respectful attitude towards clients and colleagues, with a high level of professionalism.
- Physically fit with good organisational skills to manage demanding workloads.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if required.
