Duties
- Prepare and cook healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and nutritional standards.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are strictly followed, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Assist with meal planning, including selecting fresh ingredients and creating menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements.
- Serve meals to children in a friendly, hygienic manner, encouraging positive eating habits and social interaction during mealtimes.
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage, and usage to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Collaborate with staff to coordinate mealtime schedules and assist with feeding routines as needed.
- Follow all health regulations and safety procedures to create a secure kitchen environment for staff and children alike.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles, preferably within a childcare, preschool, or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques suitable for young children’s nutritional needs.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
