Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s HomeSalary: £40,000–£55,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Performance Bonus
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our growing Residential Children’s Home. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious leader who is looking to progress into a Registered Manager role, with full support and a clear development pathway.
As Deputy Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the home, provide strong leadership to the staff team, ensure high-quality care for young people, and work alongside the Registered Manager to maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the home.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the staff team.
- Promote positive outcomes and safeguard children and young people.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
- Assist with care planning, audits, quality assurance, and staff development.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence.
- Work towards progressing into a Registered Manager position.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience within a Residential Children’s Home (this is essential).
- Previous experience working within Residential Children’s Homes supporting children and young people.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 or willingness to work towards it is desirable).
- Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Passion for achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
