Are you organised, practical and passionate about supporting young people in their learning?
St John's School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to support our thriving Science Department from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role behind the scenes, helping to deliver engaging and inspiring practical Science lessons whilst ensuring our laboratories remain safe, organised and fully resourced.
Working closely with the science teaching staff, you will prepare materials and equipment, maintain laboratory resources and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing materials, chemicals and equipment for practical lessons
- Setting up and clearing away experiments and demonstrations
- Managing stock, resources and laboratory inventories
- Assisting with equipment maintenance and safety checks
- Supporting compliance with COSHH, CLEAPSS and health and safety requirements
- Maintaining safe, organised and well-resourced laboratories

✔ Is able to work independently and as part of a team
✔ Has experience in a laboratory, educational or scientific environment (desirable)
✔ Is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety
