Your next opportunity
Our research team is a world leader in the development of fluorogenic and chromogenic probes for diagnostic microbiology. Our work strongly aligns with the NHS and involves a long-standing international industrial collaboration.
The primary purpose of this role is to conduct research aimed at producing and evaluating potential diagnostic tools for the detection and identification of pathogenic bacteria through chemical synthesis. More specifically, this will entail the synthesis of chromophores and fluorophores and conjugation of these with amino acids, short peptides, carbohydrates, and other units that bacteria use in their metabolism.
Please note this is a fixed-term contract until 01/10/2026.
Is this you?
The successful candidate will have –
1) Extensive experience in synthesis of glycosylated compounds.
2) Extensive experience in synthesis of chromophores and fluorophores for applications in diagnostic microbiology.
3) Extensive experience in characterisation of materials used in diagnostic microbiology.
