Trafficking and Exploitation (TE) Coordinator
Leamington Spa / Nuneaton
Permanent Contract
Full Time
Salary £33,603.00 - £39,276.00

The main purpose of the role is to coordinate action in response to TE referrals and work in partnership with other agencies in order to identify victims and perpetrators and assist in the management of the threat and risks posed. In addition, to collate and review all National Referral Mechanism (NRM) applications.
Main Responsibilities:
Evaluate TE referrals and notifications; identify actions required to manage risks and respond in line with agreed processes; making informed decisions regarding further investigations, referral to other statutory agencies for interventions, and/or allocation to Police units/teams, maintaining an auditable decision making process.
Work in conjunction with Police teams and external agencies to ensure effective management of TE referrals, coordinating the most appropriate policing response and ensuring referral pathways are conducted.
Manage the response to requests for Police attendance at multi-agency TE meetings, ensuring statutory obligations are met and information is appropriately shared.
Identify all intelligence led opportunities for the identification of enforcement, disruption and safeguarding activities.
Develop and maintain effective communication by acting as a single point of contact for internal and external enquires relating to TE; and assisting the responses required from TE supervisors.
Provide specialist advice and guidance to staff, raising awareness, promoting best practise and ensuring activity in accordance with TE APP and local protocols.
Undertake an administrative function around collating, recording and reviewing NRM referrals and other obligatory reporting requirements to the Region and Home Office.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Knowledge:
Education to A level/ level 3 qualification.
Knowledge and understanding of statutory/ NPCC guidance, approved professional practice and local safeguarding procedures, emerging national trends and best practice relating to CE,TE, Missing Persons, Child Protection and Abuse Investigation and Management of Police Information.
Experience:
Proven ability and experience of researching and assessing information and identifying risk.
Proven ability and experience in working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies.
Proven experience of handling information of a confidential, sensitive and personal nature.
Key Skills:
Excellent investigative and decision making skills.
The ability to analyse all available information and identify risks and manage these risks.
Competent in the use of basic IT applications such as email and word processing.
Able to enter information correctly using an appropriate computer system and retrieve and present information in a suitable format.
The ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally including influencing and negotiating, giving clear guidance and direction.
Ability to interrogate and analyse information to solve problems.
Special Conditions Travel throughout Warwickshire Policing areas.
The duties of this post involve exposure to disturbing images or tasks.
This role is a designated specialist high risk role and will require mandatory psychological screening.
