The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior FLT & Warehouse Operative based in Farnham, Surrey. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position offering an annual salary of £31,000–£32,000, working 37.5 hours per week on a rotating early and late shift pattern.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver or Warehouse Operative who is ready to take on additional responsibility and develop their leadership career. Alongside remaining hands-on within a busy yard and warehouse operation, you will have the potential to lead, support and motivate a small team.
The role is primarily based outdoors and involves operating a Counterbalance Forklift, moving palletised goods, supporting waste management processes and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the site. Previous leadership experience is essential, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example while still being actively involved in operational duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
- Load, unload and move palletised goods throughout the yard
- Support the day-to-day operation of the yard and warehouse
- Lead by example and support a small operational team
- Help motivate colleagues and maintain strong productivity standards
- Assist with the allocation and coordination of daily tasks
- Bale cardboard and recyclable waste
- Carry out general yard and warehouse duties
- Assist with the efficient movement of stock and materials across site
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
- Support wider warehouse and yard operations as required
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence
- In-house or externally accredited FLT licences accepted
- Previous Counterbalance Forklift driving experience
- Previous leadership, supervisory or team-leading experience
- Experience motivating and supporting colleagues within an operational environment
- Previous experience within a yard, warehouse, manufacturing or distribution environment advantageous
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own transport essential due to the location and shift pattern
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Physically fit and comfortable undertaking hands-on duties
