Summary
As an Assistant Manager at Lynwood & Co, you will play a vital role in ensuring our café operates smoothly while delivering exceptional service to our customers. Located in the heart of the community, you will help maintain our reputation as a welcoming space that values generosity and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Café Manager with daily operations, including opening and closing, stock control, ordering, and maintaining health and safety standards.
- Lead, train, and support team members to deliver excellent service, high-quality food and drink, and a positive working environment.
- Manage staffing levels effectively in line with sales, labour targets, and operational needs, responding proactively to schedule changes.
- Ensure food safety procedures are followed and that all food and beverages meet company quality standards.
- Provide outstanding customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, resolving queries, and handling concerns professionally.
- Support conflict resolution with staff and customers when needed, leading by example at all times.
- Monitor sales, assist with cash handling, and support basic financial reporting.
- Work across all café sections, including barista and kitchen duties, to maintain smooth service and high standards.
- Collaborate with management on promotions, events, and community initiatives that support the Lynwood & Co brand.
- Report and help resolve maintenance issues by following company procedures and using the correct contacts and workflow sheets.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or café environment, with working a minimum of a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and staff alike.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
