Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Qualified Joinery Machinist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining joinery machinery to produce high-quality wood components for various construction and renovation projects. Your expertise in fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools will be essential to ensure precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate joinery machinery such as saws, planers, routers, and other power tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood components with accuracy.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce precise joinery products.
- Perform fabrication tasks including cutting, sanding, drilling, and finishing wood materials for various projects.
- Assemble wooden structures or components using hand tools and power tools, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling heavy lifting tasks when required.
- Collaborate with carpenters, project managers, and other trades to coordinate work sequences and meet project deadlines.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
Experience
- Proven experience as a joinery machinist or in a similar carpentry/fabrication role within construction or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, assembly processes, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during material handling or installation tasks.
- Prior experience working with construction teams on diverse projects is highly desirable.
