Hours: 42 hours per week - 4 days on 4 days off - 17:05 - 05:15
Role Overview
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and company property. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and adherence to site-specific procedures, ensuring all security operations are conducted in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
The role involves managing a range of situations that may arise on-site, including incidents, emergencies, and potential security breaches. The Security Officer must:

Respond to incidents in accordance with site-specific Assignment Instructions and company reporting procedures

Conduct routine patrols diligently and in full compliance with site requirements
-
Provide assistance to individuals in need, including staff, visitors, and customers
-
Adapt to changing situations and carry out additional duties as assigned by management
-
Ensure full compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and operational guidelines
Key Responsibilities

Protect company property, staff, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment
-
Monitor premises for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
-
Report all suspicious activities and incidents accurately and in detail
-
Operate and monitor alarm systems, CCTV, and other security equipment
-
Undertake Control Room duties when required

Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies

Manage access control by monitoring and authorising entry of people and vehicles
-
Conduct regular patrols in line with Assignment Instructions

Ensure proper booking on and off duty as trained
-
Carry out thorough shift handovers, including checking documentation (DOB) and signing for equipment

Complete all required check calls as per site procedures
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
-
Previous experience in a security role
-
Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence

Strong knowledge of public safety and security procedures

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to follow instructions and work in line with operational procedures

Strong customer service skills
-
High level of integrity and professionalism
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
