Job Summary
A vacancy has arisen for a passionate and experienced Level 3 qualified Room Supervisor to join our welcoming and friendly childcare team in the Toddler Room. The successful candidate will be subject to safer recruitment checks, including a fully completed Application Form and a DBS Check.
We are a private day nursery based in Purbrook. Our aim is to provide the highest quality childcare for children aged three months to five years within a happy and stimulating learning environment. Our warm, welcoming and safe surroundings aim to meet all children's needs and parents' expectations.
The successful candidate will lead and support the daily running of the Toddler Room, ensuring high standards of care, learning and safeguarding are maintained at all times. The role will be Monday - Friday a minimum of 32 hours per week and you would need to be available between the hours of 0800-1800.
We are open 51 weeks of the year and close for 1 week over the Christmas period.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a team of practitioners within the Toddler Room
- Ensuring the room is organised, safe, stimulating and welcoming for all children
- Planning and overseeing age appropriate activities following the EYFS framework
- Supporting staff with children’s development and completing 2 Year Progress Checks to a high standard
- Liaising closely with parents/carers ensuring all children’s needs are recognised and met
- Supporting staff development and promoting positive teamwork within the nursery
- Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies are followed at all times
- Helping to set up and clear away the rooms and garden daily
- Being flexible to work with different ages and to be a reliable and effective member of the team
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, be able to motivate and support a team and communicate effectively with staff, children and parents/carers. They will have a strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development, alongside a passion for providing high quality childcare.
Desirable qualities include:
- Previous experience in a senior practitioner or room leader role
- Confidence leading a team and managing the day-to-day running of a room
- Experience completing 2 Year Progress Checks
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (preferred but not essential)
