Maven IT Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced and technically capable Analyst Programmer to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing business and technical requirements, developing and maintaining software applications, managing databases, supporting business systems, and delivering technology solutions aligned with organisational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
- Design, develop, test, maintain and enhance web-based and business applications.
- Develop and maintain applications using technologies including PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, React JS and related frameworks.
- Develop and maintain databases using MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server, including query optimisation, indexing, backups and performance monitoring.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business analysis and decision-making.
- Support and administer business applications including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce and Microsoft 365.
- Configure user accounts, permissions, access controls and system settings while maintaining appropriate security standards.
- Identify, investigate and resolve application, database and system issues.
- Perform application testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure reliable system performance.
- Maintain company websites, hosting platforms and associated technical infrastructure.
- Implement appropriate cybersecurity practices, including vulnerability assessment, website security and access management.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Integrate applications and systems where required to improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare technical documentation, system specifications and process documentation.
- Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to reliability, scalability and security.
- Participate in Agile development methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven professional experience in software development, programming or application analysis.
- Strong knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
- Experience with React JS, jQuery or similar JavaScript frameworks.
- Strong database knowledge, particularly MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience developing or supporting business applications and websites.
- Experience with Power BI and business reporting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing and debugging.
- Knowledge of application and website security principles.
- Experience working with APIs, integrations and third-party systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, SharePoint or Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of WordPress and website management.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar design tools.
- Knowledge of cloud-based application hosting and infrastructure.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Relevant professional certifications in software development, cloud technologies, Salesforce, Dynamics 365 or web development.
Education
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computing or a related discipline is preferred.
