This is more than a warehouse management role.
As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a large operational team, ensuring that goods flow safely, accurately and efficiently through our warehouse.
You'll oversee inbound, storage and outbound activities while driving productivity, maintaining high standards and developing the people around you.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll spend time on the warehouse floor, supporting your team, solving operational challenges and ensuring every shift delivers against its targets.

As the leader of your shift operation, you'll:
Manage Warehouse Supervisors, MHE Drivers and Warehouse Operatives
Create a positive, engaged and high-performing team culture
Coach and develop colleagues to maximise performance and capability
Lead by example and maintain a visible presence on the warehouse floor
Ensure teams work safely, efficiently and collaboratively
Support employee development and succession planning
✅ Managing goods-in, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch activities
✅ Delivering productivity, service and quality targets
✅ Maintaining stock accuracy and warehouse standards
✅ Ensuring orders are processed efficiently and accurately
✅ Resolving operational issues and removing barriers to performance
✅ Managing staffing levels and shift resource planning
✅ Monitoring attendance, timekeeping and shift cover
✅ Supporting performance management and employee relations matters
✅ Delivering team briefings, toolbox talks and operational communications
✅ Coaching Supervisors and developing future talent
✅ Driving a strong Health & Safety culture
✅ Ensuring safe operation of all MHE equipment
✅ Maintaining compliance with SOPs and audit requirements
✅ Supporting GDP compliance for medicines and medical devices
✅ Promoting high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety
We're looking for a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys getting the best from people.
You'll be someone who can balance operational performance with people development, ensuring targets are achieved while maintaining a positive and engaged team culture.
✔ Previous experience managing warehouse or distribution operations
✔ Experience leading Warehouse Supervisors and large operational teams
✔ Strong leadership and coaching skills
✔ Knowledge of inbound, picking, packing and dispatch operations
✔ Experience managing warehouse KPIs and operational targets
✔ Sound understanding of Health & Safety requirements
✔ Experience dealing with attendance, performance and employee relations matters
✔ Strong communication and organisational skills
✔ Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability
✔ Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
