This is an exciting opportunity to join the Student Learning Development Team as a Student Learning Development Tutor. You will play a key role in shaping the learning experience of Birkbeck students, especially those studying on the highly successful MSc Psychology (Conversion) programme, an accredited course that attracts students from a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds.
You will design and deliver engaging academic skills support through workshops, one-to-one appointments and digital learning resources, helping students develop the research, writing, critical thinking and independent learning skills required for postgraduate study.
Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will contribute to student success, continuation and attainment by ensuring learners can access timely, inclusive and effective support.
Alongside your specialist work with Psychology students, you will contribute to the Student Learning Development Team's wider provision across the university, including cross-college workshops, digital resource development and student support initiatives.
You will also have opportunities to contribute to projects that enhance student outcomes and close awarding gaps, while collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to shape innovative approaches to learning development.
This opportunity would build on experience as: Learning Development or Study Skills Advisor; Psychology Lecturer or Tutor; Demonstrator or teaching assistant for research methods in psychology.
Salary and benefits
Actual £26,548 rising to £30,227 per annum (0.6 FTE pro-rated £44,247 to £50,379), Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.

Contract
