Daisy Chain Nursery is a busy, welcoming, and community-focused nursery. We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic Nursery Cook to join our team.
About the Role
Our Nursery Cook plays a central role in our daily nursery life. Our kitchen sits in the heart of the building, and the children love to pop in to chat and see what’s cooking. It’s a genuinely rewarding and friendly place to work.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing breakfast, snacks, and lunch for children and staff
- Creating and updating weekly menus
- Ordering food and managing stock within budget
- Maintaining excellent hygiene standards and keeping the kitchen clean and organised
- Ensuring all dietary requirements and allergies are carefully followed
- Supporting a positive, welcoming atmosphere for children and staff
The menu is varied, and we love trying new dishes. If you enjoy cooking healthy, balanced meals and have lots of great ideas, we’d love to meet you!
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a restaurant environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
