We are looking for an experienced Stone Saw Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will have proven experience operating a Donatoni stone saw or similar CNC bridge saw machinery and have a strong understanding of working with a range of natural and engineered stone materials.
This is a hands-on role requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and a good understanding of stone fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Donatoni CNC stone saw or similar machinery safely and efficiently.
- Set up and operate machinery according to cutting requirements and production drawings.
- Accurately measure, mark out and cut stone to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and templates.
- Work with a variety of stone materials, including:
- Granite
- Quartzite
- Marble
- Sintered stone
- Quartz
- Ensure all cuts are accurate and meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, quality and defects.
- Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance where required.
- Work safely when handling large and heavy stone slabs.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work closely with the fabrication and production teams to ensure orders are completed on time.
Requirements & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Stone Saw Operator or in a similar stone fabrication role.
- Proven experience operating a Donatoni machine, CNC bridge saw, or comparable stone-cutting machinery.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience working with granite, quartzite, marble, sintered stone and quartz.
- Ability to accurately read technical drawings and cutting specifications.
- Good understanding of stone fabrication and cutting processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good awareness of workplace health and safety.
- Physically capable of handling stone and working in a production environment.
