Salary range: Up to £65,889.70 per annum DOE inclusive of regional pay allowance plus unsocial working hours allowance.

Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls into the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)
About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for a full time, night shift, Biomedical Scientist to join our Infection Sciences team at the new Hertfordshire and West Essex HWE Hub . This is an exciting opportunity to join our new purpose built 24/7 Infection Sciences Laboratory based at Watford Croxley Park Hub . The post holder must use a combination of technical knowledge and skills to ensure that appropriate sample testing is performed safely, accurately and in a timely manner, for every patient, every time, while maintaining the sites contracted performance for turn around times TATs. Whilst experience in working infection Sciences laboratory is essential, further training will be provided to ensure the successful candidate is competent for all night duty tasks.
The laboratory is fully equipped with state of the art processes and technology . The successful candidate will join our team of dedicated Biomedical scientists and lab support staff in delivering a high-quality pathology service. We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive and attention to detail is essential.
An important aspect of this role is the continual professional development and keeping up to date with their departmental training. This will involve working closely with the Training Officer to ensure competency and training is maintained to the required standard, which will include daytime training sessions.
The HWE Hub is not yet operational and as a new laboratory the ideal candidate will need to be adaptable to a changing environment, committed to service excellence and have a genuine desire for continued personal and professional development
