We are recruiting for experienced Employment Specialists to support a targeted employability programme helping young people and residents overcome barriers and progress into employment, education and training.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employability professional who is confident managing a caseload, delivering one-to-one support and working with participants facing complex barriers.
You will independently manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored information, advice and guidance (IAG), practical employment support and progression planning.
You will work closely with Council services, employers, education and training providers, housing services and voluntary/community organisations to help participants achieve positive outcomes.
Manage a rolling caseload of participants requiring employment, education or training support.
Carry out outreach and initial engagement activity.
Complete participant enrolments, eligibility checks and compliance documentation.
Provide one-to-one employment support, including CV advice, job searching and interview preparation.
Develop and review bespoke action and employment pathway plans.
Support participants towards job, training and education starts.
Maintain accurate case notes, activity records and compliance documentation on case management systems.
Build effective relationships with referral partners and external organisations.
Work with employers, training providers and education providers to identify opportunities.
Deliver support across community settings as required.
Participate in case reviews, reporting, partnership meetings and outreach events.
Support participants who may have multiple or complex barriers to employment.
We are looking for candidates with:
Proven experience supporting people into employment, education, training or placement opportunities.
Experience providing IAG to residents or young people.
Experience independently managing a caseload.
Experience creating action plans or progression pathways.
Experience supporting people facing complex or multiple barriers to employment.
Strong record keeping and case management skills.
Experience collecting and maintaining compliance documentation.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and targets.
Good understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, consent, information sharing and data protection.
Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in employment support, careers guidance, IAG, education, training or a related support setting.
Candidates with experience of the following will be particularly attractive:
Supporting young people with SEND/LDD.
Working with young people with Youth Justice experience.
Supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Working within a local authority employment, skills, careers, NEET, youth support or employability service.
Using Hanlon or another CRM/case management system.
Working within target-driven or outcome-focused programmes.
Working with employers, education and training providers.
Supporting participants with disclosure conversations.
