Job Purpose
To support the efficient running of production by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, machine set-up, and continuous improvement activities. This role focuses on maintaining and improving machinery performance, reducing downtime, and supporting the safe introduction and optimisation of equipment across the site.
Planned & Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Carry out scheduled PPM activities including inspection, lubrication, greasing and cleaning of machinery
- Complete maintenance tasks in line with maintenance schedules
- Record all maintenance activities accurately
Reactive Maintenance & Fault Finding
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and minor electrical faults
- Support PLC fault finding (training provided)
- Work with production teams to identify root causes
Machine Operation & Set-Up
- Carry out machine set-up and adjustments
- Assist production teams with changeovers
- Support troubleshooting of process-related issues
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Adjust machinery settings to optimise output
- Support improvement projects with engineering and production teams
Installation & Development
- Assist in installing and commissioning new machinery
- Support implementation of new equipment
- Provide training/guidance to operators
General Maintenance
- Carry out light maintenance tasks including painting and building upkeep
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe working environment
Health & Safety
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Report hazards and unsafe conditions
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Experience in a manufacturing maintenance role
Strong mechanical knowledge with basic electrical skills
Experience performing PPM and fault finding
Strong problem-solving ability
PLC knowledge or willingness to learn
Food manufacturing experience
Understanding of continuous improvement

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
