About the Role
Aster Support Services Ltd is looking for a reliable, caring and punctual Support Worker to provide school transport assistance for a child with special needs.
This is a part-time, term-time-only role, ideal for someone seeking work around school hours. The successful candidate will safely transport the child to and from school while maintaining a professional, compassionate and supportive approach.
Working Hours
Morning
- 8:00 am – Collect the child from home.
- Safely transport and drop the child at school by 8:45 am.
Afternoon
- 2:45 pm – Collect the child from school.
- Safely transport and drop the child to the agreed location by 3:30 pm.
Total: 1.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport the child to and from school.
- Ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing throughout each journey.
- Maintain a calm, patient and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with parents and Aster Support Services.
- Follow safeguarding policies and maintain confidentiality.
- Be punctual, reliable and dependable.
Essential Requirements
- Caring, patient and trustworthy.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
- Access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
- Experience supporting children or individuals with special educational needs or disabilities is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
Pay & Contract
- £14.00 per hour.
- Approximately £105.00 per week during term time.
- Term-time only. No work is available during school holidays or school closure days.
