Yard Operative/ Van Driver - Sutton Coldfield
Full Time, Permanent
We require an enthusiastic individual who can provide excellent customer service to our trade and retail customers. You will be working in the yard and warehouse to retrieve stock as well as preparing and picking orders to be loaded onto our lorries for delivery whilst delivering orders to our customers yourself via van.
Key tasks will include:
· Ensure Depot customer requirements are met at all times
· Maintain a courteous and helpful attitude towards Customers at all times
· Ensure company paperwork is treated in accordance with company procedures
· Ensure allocated areas are kept clean and tidy
· Prioritise the loading and unloading of all vehicles entering the Depot
· Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly checks on Forklift Truck, including keeping truck clean
· Ensure that Forklift Truck mechanical faults are reported to Supervisor immediately
· Ensure a professional attitude to Health and Safety responsibilities
· Report all stock breakages and internal wastage to line manager
· Ensure all goods for delivery are wrapped and are safe to transport
· Report stock shortages to line manager
· Driving Van in accordance with the delivery schedule
· Provide daily walk round check of vehicle
· Ensure vehicle load and delivery paperwork is correct
· Ensure correct manual handling procedure is followed
Person & Skills
The successful candidate will be familiar with all aspects of stock handling and have knowledge of heavy-side building materials. Ideally you will have recent experience of driving a counterbalance and combination forklift, as well as having a valid forklift licence. You will also need to hold a Full UK Driving Licence as the role will also include Van Driver duties.
