Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Freelance Garden Plants Person / Horticultural Manager to support our gardening team. The ideal candidate will have good plant knowledge along with experience to assist with various tasks relating to general garden maintenance & seasonal garden clearance tasks, as well as assisting with the day to day running of the practical side of the business, assisting with team management, operative scheduling & client liaison.
Responsibilities:
- Provide garden maintenance tasks such as weeding, planting, splitting, shaping, pruning, general garden maintenance & clearance tasks.
- Use hand tools for gardening activities.
- Support in regular maintenance visits to client's in the Tavistock area (within 15 miles) with the ability to work on your own and/or as part of a team.
- Assist in grounds-keeping duties including mowing (if applicable), edging, and strimming.
- Utilise power tools for garden maintenance under supervision.
- Be able to transport yourself & tools to client's address when working solely.
Duties
- Provide horticultural services & garden maintenance tasks in domestic gardens to a high standard.
- Prune, trim, and shape plants to promote healthy growth and desired aesthetics.
- Conduct regular garden maintenance including mowing, strimming & light hedge trimming (where applicable).
- Day to day management of team of skilled horticulturists & garden maintenance assistants.
- Scheduling of weekly rotas & client liaison.
- Working closely with company director to ensure the smooth running of the Tavistock territory.
- Previous experience managing multiple projects independently is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality results. This role offers an excellent opportunity for self-motivated horticulturists to apply their skills in a flexible freelance capacity while contributing to beautiful outdoor spaces.
- Approximately 16 to 20 hours working in gardens - Approximately 2 - 4 hours working in the Tavistock based office.
Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
