Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Attendance Officer to join our team. In this role, you will monitor and analyse student attendance records, promote punctuality, and foster a positive attendance culture within the school community.

Duties
- Monitor and analyse attendance data to identify patterns of absence
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding attendance issues
- Implement strategies to improve attendance rates for individual children and the overal school
- Follow up on unexplained absences through phone calls, emails, or home visits to ensure safety and engagement
- Maintain detailed logs and case notes and generate reports for school administration where necessary
- Collaborate with teachers and administrative staff to identify patterns or concerns related to attendance
- Support initiatives that promote a positive school climate focused on punctuality and participation
- Writing referrals for legal action where appropriate
- Writing reports for Court where parents have failed to ensure regular attendance to school

- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail

- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Proactive problem-solving skills to address attendance barriers effectively
- Experience of working in a school is a plus, as it enhances understanding of student needs and classroom dynamics

The role will be across a number of schools In the Plymouth/Tavistock area. Initially for 1 day per week but potential for another day of willing to travel to Devon and Torbay.
Pay: From £23.50 per hour
