ATEX Premier Cleaning is a fast-growing specialist engineering company servicing, repairing and manufacturing industrial cleaning equipment for major UK clients across the pharmaceutical, food production, aerospace, manufacturing and industrial sectors.
We are not a domestic vacuum repair shop. We engineer, rebuild and maintain:
- Industrial vacuum systems (Nilfisk, Kerstar, Kärcher)
- ATEX-rated hazardous area equipment
- Commercial steam machines (Osprey)
- Bespoke high-level cleaning pole systems
Our equipment is used nationwide by operational teams, hire customers and major industrial clients.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Electro‑Mechanical Service Engineer who can diagnose faults, repair equipment to a high standard, and ensure every machine leaves the workshop in first-class condition.
This is a workshop-based role with occasional client site visits for specialist servicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical & mechanical faults on industrial vacuum systems
- Service and repair Nilfisk, Kerstar, Kärcher and ATEX-rated vacuums
- Service and repair Osprey steam cleaning machines
- Replace motors, turbines, bearings, switches, wiring and electrical components
- Carry out PAT testing, safety checks and compliance inspections
- Test equipment before dispatch to ensure reliability and performance
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Assemble and prepare high-level pole kits and specialist cleaning tools
- Support product testing, quality assurance and workshop improvements
- Deep clean all serviced equipment before dispatch
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment

Experience with Nilfisk, Kerstar, Kärcher or Osprey machines is highly advantageous — but not essential.
If you are a capable electro‑mechanical engineer, you will be able to learn our equipment quickly. We provide:
- Full service manuals for all machines
- Step-by-step repair guides
- ATEX training
- Support from experienced engineers
- Clear workflows and structured job sheets
Some servicing tasks may take longer at first, but with the resources and support available, any strong engineer will be able to carry out full strip-downs, diagnostics and repairs confidently.
If you enjoy problem-solving, fault-finding and producing quality workmanship, you will succeed in this role.
About You
You’re someone who genuinely enjoys engineering and takes pride in doing things properly.
You’ll ideally have experience as a:
- Electro‑Mechanical Engineer
- Service Engineer
- Workshop Engineer
- Industrial Equipment Technician
- Maintenance Engineer
- Pump, Compressor or Machinery Engineer
You should be confident with:
- Electrical fault finding
- Mechanical repairs
- Motors, turbines, bearings
- Wiring, switches, electrical testing
- Reading schematics and technical manuals
- Using diagnostic tools
- Working independently and solving problems
- Producing high-quality workmanship
ATEX experience is an advantage — full training provided.

Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum 1 year industrial or electro‑mechanical engineering experience (preferred)
- Ability to commute to Northampton NN3 6WL
- Reliable, proactive and solution-focused attitude
