Role Overview
We are a growing windows and doors company seeking a detail-oriented Order Processor to manage the full order lifecycle from confirmed sale through to delivery and installation. You will be the central point of coordination between customers, sales staff, suppliers and manufacturers, and installation teams, ensuring every order is accurate, on schedule, and right first time.
This role requires prior experience within the windows and doors (fenestration) industry — applications without it will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and Process incoming orders accurately into the order management system, checking specifications (sizes, glazing, finishes, hardware, colours) against quotes and survey notes.
- Raise and place purchase orders with suppliers and manufacturers, confirming lead times and pricing.
- Track orders through manufacturing and delivery, proactively chasing suppliers and flagging delays.
- Verify order acknowledgements and delivery notes, resolving discrepancies before they reach site.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, amendments, and customer communications.
- Handle customer queries on order status, delivery dates, and changes in a professional manner.
- Liaise with the sales team to resolve specification queries or missing information.
- Manage remedial and replacement orders for any damaged or incorrect items.
- Support general administrative duties as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in the windows and doors industry is essential — whether in order processing, sales administration, fabrication, or a related coordination role within fenestration.
- Thorough and detailed focus approach towards clients and fabricators is essential
- Solid working knowledge of window and door products, terminology, systems (e.g. uPVC, aluminium, composite), glazing options, and hardware.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy — critical given the bespoke, made-to-measure nature of the products.
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with suppliers and customers by phone and email.
- Well organised, able to juggle multiple orders and priorities under deadline pressure.
- Competent with IT systems (CRM / order management software, Microsoft Office, Excel).
- A problem-solving mindset and calm approach to resolving issues.
Desirable
- Familiarity with surveying and measurement basics.
- Established relationships with industry suppliers and manufacturers.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (depending on experience).
- Pension, holiday allowance, and other benefits.
- A supportive team in a growing local business.
