We are now looking to appoint an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead and develop our warehouse operation in Rotherham.

The Role
As Warehouse Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading and managing the warehouse team, ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently, safely and professionally every day.
This is a genuine hands-on management role. Whilst your primary responsibility is to lead and manage the warehouse operation, you will also be prepared to support the team whenever operational demands require it. We are looking for someone who leads by example, enjoys solving problems, takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards and is committed to continuous improvement.
Working closely with the senior management team, you will have the opportunity to influence the future development of the warehouse operation, continually improving processes, developing the team and ensuring the warehouse continues to operate efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
· Lead the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and provide leadership, support and direction to the warehouse team.
· Ensure customer orders are accurately picked, packed, dispatched and on time.
· Manage warehouse transactions using our Odoo ERP system, ensuring goods receipts, stock movements and dispatches are accurately recorded.
· Maintain excellent inventory accuracy through effective warehouse controls and regular stock verification.
· Receive, inspect and organise incoming deliveries, ensuring stock is stored safely, securely and efficiently.
· Manage UK and international shipments, including export documentation and liaison with freight forwarders and courier companies.
· Review freight options to ensure goods are shipped using the most appropriate and cost-effective services.
· Review warehouse layouts, stock locations and operational workflows. Continually improve warehouse organization, storage systems and workflow to maximise efficiency.
· Take responsibility for the presentation, upkeep and day-to-day maintenance of the warehouse and surrounding site, ensuring the premises remain clean, organised, safe and professionally maintained.
· Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained and arrange servicing or repairs where required.
· Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
· Act as a designated key holder, including responsibility for opening and securing the premises and responding to alarm call-outs if required.
· Take responsibility for the recruitment, induction, training, performance management and development of warehouse team members, ensuring the warehouse is supported by a capable, motivated and high-performing team.
· Provide regular operational updates to senior management and recommend practical improvements to warehouse operations.
· Work alongside the warehouse team during busy periods and wherever operational support is required.
· Take responsibility for sourcing and purchasing warehouse consumables ensuring they are fit for purpose, represent the best value for money and are maintained at appropriate stock levels to support the efficient operation of the warehouse.
· Establish and monitor appropriate warehouse performance measures, including order fulfilment times and productivity, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately whilst maintaining excellent levels of accuracy and customer service
Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
· Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Operations Manager or in a similar warehouse leadership role.
· Experience leading and motivating a warehouse team with problem solving abilities.
· Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and order fulfilment.
· Experience using an ERP or warehouse management system is essential
· Experience managing UK and international logistics, including full knowledge and experience of Incoterms.
· A good understanding of warehouse Health & Safety requirements.
· A current recognised Counterbalance Forklift Truck Operator certificate.
· Good IT skills, including confidence using warehouse management software.
· A full UK driving licence.
