Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will assist in managing costs, preparing estimates, and supporting project teams to ensure financial efficiency throughout the construction process. Your proactive approach and keen eye for detail will contribute to delivering projects on budget and within scope. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through completion.
- Support the procurement process by obtaining quotations, analyzing bids, and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor project costs regularly, identifying variances from the budget and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, change orders, and contractual documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of work completed for billing purposes.
- Support in the preparation of tender documentation and contract administration tasks.
Experience
- Previous experience or internship in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of cost control principles within construction projects.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software such as MS Excel, CostX, or similar tools is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive learner eager to grow within the field of quantity surveying and project cost management.
