Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit or takeaway experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen team
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, maintaining presentation standards and ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving change
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, including tables, counters, and takeaway packaging stations
- Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Assist in food preparation tasks when needed to support kitchen operations during busy periods
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables or takeaway orders simultaneously without compromising quality or service speed
- Provide exceptional guest services by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with serving techniques, food safety standards, and basic food preparation is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with guests and team members
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems or cash registers
- Basic math skills for order calculations, change handling, and upselling opportunities
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of kitchen operations or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn on the job is essential
