Job Overview
We are looking for an experinced barista for our speciality coffee shop in the centre of Faringdon. The successful candidate will be confident pouring basic latte art, enjoy drinking coffee and interested to learn even more. They will be exacting with brewing recipes, and confident preparing a variety of brewing methods. An easy confidence, ability to converse and remember names and faces are musts.
Duties
- To open or close the coffee shop with care, speed and attention to detail
- Cleaning down the coffee shop on closes
- Prepare a variety of drinks with accuracy to the recipe
- Handle the daily baked goods
- Converse with customers positively and with care
- Washing dishes and cleaning tables through the day where needed
- Follow open and close lists
- Communicate stock and ordering needs daily
Skills
- Proven established barista
- Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and positive interactions
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in handling food and drinks
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks accurately while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Math skills for handling cash transactions, managing pour times, weights and grind sizes
- Comfortable following lists and protocols in drink preparation, set up and pack down of the space
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Reliable team player with good communication skills who can adapt quickly
- Self driven with an attention to detail even whilst solo working
- Calm and level headed in a fast paced service environment
- Sense of humour
Pay: £14.25 per hour
