This is not for one single job. We are speaking to Teaching Assistants, SEN Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants now so we can match the right people to local schools when September bookings are confirmed.
We work with primary schools across Preston that regularly need support staff for classroom support, 1:1 pupil support, SEN support, small-group interventions, phonics, reading, numeracy and general school support.
Roles can vary from flexible day-to-day supply to regular part-time work, full-time roles and longer-term bookings.

Location: Preston and nearby areas
Pay: £14.25-£15.46 per hour, depending on the role

What You Could Be Doing
As primary school support staff, your role may include:
- Supporting pupils in the classroom
- Working with children on a 1:1 basis
- Supporting pupils with additional needs
- Helping with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy
- Supporting small groups with intervention work
- Helping pupils stay focused, settled and engaged
- Supporting classroom routines and behaviour expectations
- Working closely with class teachers and school staff
- Helping children build confidence and independence
- Providing calm, patient and consistent support throughout the school day
Some roles will be general classroom support. Others may involve more focused SEN support, including helping pupils with learning, communication, routines, behaviour or emotional regulation.
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You...
- Have experience working with children
- Have worked as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant, Nursery Practitioner or in a similar role
- Are patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships
- Can support children with learning, confidence and routines
- Are comfortable working in primary schools
- Can follow teacher guidance and use your initiative
- Are interested in supply, part-time, full-time or long-term school work from September
- Have, or are willing to complete, the required safeguarding and compliance checks
