As a Trainer Assessor, you will deliver high-quality teaching, assessment and learner support across programmes from Entry Level to Level 2, including areas such as teaching assistant training, cleaning, health and social care, and warehousing. You will guide learners throughout their journey, from initial advice and course placement through to successful completion and progression.
Working closely with colleagues and external stakeholders, you will create a positive and inclusive learning experience, helping learners achieve their goals while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and achievement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver engaging teaching, training and assessment programmes for adult learners across a range of Adult Skills provision.
- Provide pre-course and on-course guidance, including learner interviews and appropriate programme placement.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning activities in line with college, awarding body and funding requirements.
- Support learners throughout their programme, monitoring progress and maintaining electronic Individual Learning Plans (eILPs).
- Organise and manage learner enrolment, attendance, records and reporting accurately and within required timescales.
- Conduct reviews, assessments and verification activities to support timely achievement and certification.
- Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to support learner progression and access to wider college services.
- Contribute to quality assurance activities, including course evaluation, self-assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in curriculum development and the review of learning materials and programmes.
- Maintain professional knowledge and skills through continuing professional development and performance review processes.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant vocational subject area, together with a Level 3 teaching qualification and a Level 3 Teaching, Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA) qualification (or equivalent).
- GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths, plus a Level 2 IT qualification.
- Experience of teaching within an adult education environment and delivering employability skills programmes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and support learners while managing challenging situations professionally.
- Knowledge of education and training programmes, funding and claiming procedures, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills Mathematics and/or GCSE Mathematics.
- Experience of supervising adult learners.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
Salary: Grade 5 £33,787.00 - £42,766.00
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 35.5 hours per week
Working Weeks: 52 weeks per year
Location: Group role across Doncaster and Scunthorpe campuses, with flexibility required to work across both sites
Reporting Line: Curriculum Leader
Core Working Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:00pm Friday. Flexibility around working patterns may be agreed with your line manager to meet business needs.
