Payroll Specialist
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our People Team.
This is a permanent, full time position, based on site at our Head Office in Wootton, Bedfordshire.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll play an important part in delivering an accurate, efficient and customer-focused payroll service across the business. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day payroll activity, support our people with their queries, manage pensions and Driver Pay, complete month-end reporting and work closely with the Payroll Manager and wider People Team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the efficient delivery of daily and monthly payroll processes, ensuring everything is completed accurately and on time.
Taking ownership of the payroll inbox and responding to payroll-related queries in a helpful and professional manner.
Managing and supporting end-to-end monthly payroll, including Driver Pay, pensions and associated processes.
Providing clear guidance to employees and managers on payroll, pension and benefits-related queries.
Working closely with the Payroll Manager and People Team to resolve queries and ensure a great experience for our people.
Preparing and completing payroll-related Government statistics and reporting, including Gender Pay Reporting and ONS surveys.
Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and ensuring processes remain compliant.
Producing and supporting month-end payroll reporting.
Getting involved in ad hoc payroll projects and other activities as required.
What You’ll Bring
At least 4 years’ experience in a similar payroll role.
Experienced in the use of Workday, within a payroll environment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of payroll processes and legislation.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent people and customer service skills, with the ability to support employees and managers in a friendly and professional way.
Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Excel.
The confidence to take ownership, manage your workload and see tasks through to completion.
