About the Role
We have opened a cosy neighbourhood café and we’re looking for someone great in the kitchen to join our small team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a busy café environment, preparing fresh food to order, and keeping things running smoothly during service.
Our menu focuses on simple, fresh café food including making fresh to order sandwiches, sausage and bacon baps, açaí bowls, eggs on toast and salads.
We're looking for someone reliable, organised, and able to multitask in a fast-paced café kitchen.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and cooking fresh food to order during busy service
- Making items such as sandwiches, breakfast baps, avocado on toast, and açaí bowls
- Following recipes and keeping food consistent and high quality
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and running efficiently
- Managing prep, restocking during quieter periods and ordering
- Following food hygiene and safety standards in line with our 5 star food hygiene rating
- Working closely with the front-of-house team to keep service smooth
- Helping maintain a positive and friendly kitchen environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a café kitchen, deli, or similar environment
- Someone who can multitask and stay calm during busy periods
- Comfortable working independently in a small kitchen
- Able to follow recipes and prepare food consistently
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen organisation
- Reliable, hardworking, and a team player
