Holiday Inn London Shepperton is looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth across our corporate accommodation, meetings, events and social event segments.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, successful hotel and play a key role in growing both our corporate account base and our Storyboard Meetings Events business.
The role is predominantly focused on developing and managing Local Negotiated Rate (LNR) and Key Negotiated Rate (KNR) corporate accounts, while also proactively promoting our meetings, events and social event facilities.
This is a hotel-based role with regular time spent in the local market meeting clients, attending networking events and identifying new opportunities to drive revenue.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for generating new business, maintaining strong client relationships and delivering revenue growth across key market segments.
The role is split approximately:
- 70% Corporate Account Development Management (LNR/KNR Accounts)
- 30% Storyboard Meetings Events, Meetings, Events Social Event Sales
Working closely with the General Manager, Revenue Management, Meetings Events and operational teams, you will be responsible for developing business opportunities that contribute to the overall commercial success of the hotel.
- Proactively identify, target and secure new local and national corporate accounts.
- Develop and grow Local Negotiated Rate (LNR) and Key Negotiated Rate (KNR) business.
- Manage, retain and develop a portfolio of existing corporate accounts.
- Conduct regular client appointments, account reviews and hotel showrounds.
- Negotiate rates and agreements in line with the hotel's commercial strategy.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of corporate, meetings, events and social event opportunities.
- Promote Storyboard Meetings Events and the wider hotel facilities to corporate clients, agencies, event organisers and local businesses.
- Generate opportunities across meetings, conferences, training days, social events, private dining and celebrations.
- Attend networking events, local business forums and industry events to generate new business opportunities.
- Work closely with the Meetings Events team to maximise enquiry conversion and ensure smooth handover of confirmed business.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity reports and business development forecasts.
- Represent Holiday Inn London Shepperton professionally at all times.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in hotel sales, corporate sales, business development or meetings and events sales.
- A proven ability to generate new business and develop strong client relationships.
- Strong networking and prospecting skills.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales targets and revenue generation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively across multiple hotel departments.
- Confidence in building relationships with corporate decision-makers and key stakeholders.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.is a necessity
