Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Surface Grinder Operative to join our manufacturing Aerospace team. The successful candidate will be responsible for precision grinding operations to produce high-quality components in the metal working sectors. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to the production of critical parts in a dynamic environment.
Duties
· Set up and operate surface grinding machines to achieve specified dimensions and surface finishes, and achieve material thickness/chamfers
- Read and interpret technical drawings, to determine grinding parameters.
- Conduct basic measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
· Operating fly presses
· General press shop work
· Operating press machines.
Experience
- Proven experience in grinding operations, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately. This role requires a detail-oriented approach combined with practical mechanical skills to ensure the highest standards of quality in production processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Tool setting advantageous but not essential
