Production Manager - Gateway Modular

Location: Hedon Road, Hull
Salary: £45K per annum
Hours: 7am-3.30pm Monday to Thursday; 7am-2.30pm Friday (additional hours as required)
Contract: Permanent, full-time
The opportunity
Gateway Modular is entering an exciting stage of growth, and we are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our dedicated manufacturing operation on Hedon Road, Hull.
This is much more than a role focused on maintaining the status quo. You will have the autonomy to shape how the site operates, develop a skilled multidisciplinary team and build the standards, culture and ways of working that will support our continued success.

What you will be doing
- Lead the safe, effective and successful day-to-day operation of the Hedon Road site.
- Turn the production plan into clear daily and weekly priorities, coordinating people, materials, equipment and workflow.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team including a Team Leader, Welders, an FLT Operator, a Painter and the site-based office team.
- Champion a proactive safety culture and high standards of quality, housekeeping and employee welfare.
- Monitor production performance and use data to improve output, efficiency, downtime, rework and delivery.
- Identify practical opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste and support sustainable growth.
- Create a positive, accountable working environment where ideas are welcomed and good performance is recognised.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations and colleagues across the wider business.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and the continued development of the operation as it grows.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience managing a manufacturing or production operation.
- A strong track record of leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Sound knowledge of production planning, workflow management and target delivery.
- A genuine commitment to health and safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage labour, materials and operating costs effectively.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to make sound decisions.
- Clear communication, strong organisation and the ability to remain positive under pressure.
- The confidence to work with autonomy at a dedicated site while collaborating closely with the wider business.
- Experience in modular manufacturing, welding and fabrication would be a real advantage. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, ISO 9001 or BS EN 1090 would also be welcome, but we are equally interested in experienced production leaders from closely related manufacturing environments.
